Should your business be using Claude?
We build with it, so weigh this accordingly. If you already pay for an assistant, start there. If you write long documents or you are building something rather than asking questions, Claude earns its place.
The short answer
We build with Claude. We are not an Anthropic partner or reseller and earn nothing if you buy it, which is worth saying once so you can weigh the rest. The recommendation here is the same as everywhere else on this site: start with the assistant already included in something you pay for. Microsoft sells Copilot bundled into some business plans and as an add-on to others, and Google includes Gemini across the paid Workspace tiers, so check before you buy anything else.
Where it earns a place is specific, and worth knowing rather than guessing at. Long documents that have to hold one voice from beginning to end. Work where you are assembling a repeatable process rather than asking questions. Those are the jobs we use it for on client work every week, which is the honest reason it is the tool we reach for.
If the decision is already made and the question is your team, that is Claude training.
Where it earns its place
The difference people most often report, and the one worth testing rather than trusting. Take a real document you have already written, give the same brief to whatever you use now and to Claude, and read both. That takes twenty minutes and settles it better than any comparison page, including this one.
If you are not on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, the "use what you already pay for" argument does not apply to you, and the field is genuinely open.
Where the work is assembling a repeatable process rather than asking questions. This is the ground we work on, and the reason we use it ourselves.
Out of the box it works from what you give it. Connectors for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace exist and close most of that gap, but they need tenant consent and somebody to own the setup. An assistant living inside that tenant arrives with it already done, and no amount of writing quality is worth re-doing that work for.
If you are thinking of moving to it
Treat it as a migration rather than a switch. One client moved from ChatGPT to Claude partway through an engagement, because the writing suited what they needed better. That meant instructions rewritten, saved work moved across, and a period running both while it settled. Worth doing for them, and longer than the ten minutes people expect.
The same logic runs in both directions, and it is set out alongside the other comparison in .
The other reason Claude matters to a business
Not as a tool you buy, but as a place your customers ask about you. These assistants return different results for the same question, so being findable in one is not being findable in all. A business can rank perfectly well on Google and be invisible to an assistant a buyer actually asked.
That is a separate piece of work from choosing which tool your team uses, and it is covered in getting found by AI and in how do you get your business recommended by AI.
We will tell you when the answer is no
What you already pay for
Checked before anything is recommended. If there is an assistant sitting unused inside a plan you hold, that is the honest starting point.
A real test, on your work
One document you have already written, the same brief to each tool, read side by side. A real document, the same brief to each, read side by side.
Set up on your context
If it is the right tool, it needs your instructions and reference material loaded in, so it starts from your business rather than from nothing.
The rules, either way
What client information is allowed near it and on which plan. The tier decides that, not the vendor.
Questions we get asked
What is Claude and how is it different from ChatGPT?
Claude is Anthropic’s assistant. For everyday business writing the gap between it and ChatGPT is small enough that it will not decide whether your work improves. Where people tend to notice a difference is longer documents and writing that has to hold a consistent voice, which is a preference worth testing on your own work rather than taking on anyone’s word.
Should our business use Claude?
If you have no assistant included in something you already pay for, it is a straightforward choice and worth testing on your own work. If you do have one, the question is whether there is a job Claude does materially better for you, which is answerable in twenty minutes with a real document. What is not a good reason is that a consultant prefers it.
Do you recommend Claude because you use it?
We build with it and earn nothing if you buy it, so treat this as a preference rather than a recommendation. The platform matters far less than what you do with it, and starting with what you already pay for is the cheaper answer for most firms.
Does Claude train on business conversations?
On the consumer plans you are made to choose, and the legal terms are worded as an opt-out. Allow it and conversations are retained for five years; decline and deleted conversations purge within thirty days. Team, Enterprise and the API sit outside that entirely. As everywhere else, the answer turns on which one your staff are signed into.
Is it hard to move from ChatGPT to Claude?
Harder than people expect. Treat it as a migration: instructions have to be rewritten, saved work moved across, and you will run both for a period while the change settles. Worth doing for a specific job that is materially better, rarely worth doing on a general impression.
Can Claude see our company files?
Not out of the box. Connectors for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace exist on the paid tiers and close most of the gap, but somebody has to consent to them in your tenant and keep them working. If most of your work already sits in that tenant, the assistant living inside it arrives with that done, which is a head start on setup rather than on capability.
Why does being visible to Claude matter separately?
Because these assistants do not all search the same index. Being findable by one is not being findable by all, which is why AI visibility work has to be checked engine by engine rather than assumed from a Google ranking.
